The Jeff Garcia Police Report
When asked by police if he felt the effects of the drinks he had that night, Garcia's response was "I have a buzz," (with a reported BAC of .237%, that's an understatement!) and when asked for an explanation of his driving, offered up, "I didn't think I was driving that bad." The police thought otherwise in their report, with one officer stating that Garcia's Lincoln Navigator narrowly missed the left had curb (on a one way street) then abruptly swerved back to the right. After being pulled over, one of Garcia's friends, following in another vehicle, apparently run up to the scene shouting, "Garcia wasn't driving, it was the girl!" before being asked to step aside by the officers at the scene. The officer then asked both female occupants of the car if they had been driving and both said "No" but when he asked Garcia's other passenger, Eddie Garza, if he knew who was driving the car he had be riding in, his reply was "I can not tell you that." In addition to the three passengers in Garcia's vehicle and the friends in the second vehicle, a crowd started to gather as the investigation was underway and at one point they were shouting "Let Garcia go!" In at least one officer's report, he claimed to have called for additional police back-up because he was concerned that "the crowd had the potential to turn into a riot and may try to lynch Garcia." Lynch Garcia? If you say so officer. Garcia's .237% was good enough to land him in 11th place on our BadJocks BAC Rankings.

By now, most of you know that San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback, Jeff
Garcia, was arrested on a DUI charge back on January 14, in a Jack-in-the-Box
parking lot near the campus of San Jose State University by a couple of campus
cops. The Santa Clara County District Attorney's this week released the police
report from that incident and it has a couple of interesting bits of
information.
