I have been on the Idiot Proof Diet (day 7), and have lost a total of 9 lbs. so far.

I have been trying really hard and been very focused on losing weight for the past 6 weeks, and this by far has been better than anything I have ever tried. I have been to Weight Watchers (I am a lifetimer), Jenny Craig, Curves, Phen Fen, and even read Dr. Phil's weight loss book, but this is by far the best I have ever done. I am not hungry, I get plenty of calories, and I feel very good.

I would recommend this to anybody serious about losing weight. I do exercise though, even though they only recommend walking.

This is day nine of my first eleven days on the diet. As to date I have lost nine pounds. I followed the diet , have been drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water per day, I started with walking 11/2 miles a day on my treadmill, I am now up to 2 miles in the morning which really boost my energy and another 1 mile after dinner. I am sleeping more soundly, have rekindled the lost energy and stamina that I had in my twenties and thirties. I have always had dark circles and bags under my eyes but since I have been on this remarkable diet, my dark circles have lightened and my bags are noticeably shrinking. My Success Story: Lost 7 lbs in 7 Days on Idiot Proof Diet

This diet came to me via a friend who had lost 17 pounds. My age, weight and fitness level were approximately the same as hers and I decided after years of trying WW and various other diets to give it a shot. I started at 150 pounds and within 7 days had gone down to 143 pounds. It was easy to follow and when you add in salsa and other allowable things I found I was never feeling great hunger pangs and was content to eat the 4 small meals a day. So far so good. There are currently 10 women watching me carefully to see if it works and they have promised to hop on board if I am successful. I plan to continue on to my 3 day break and then do another 11 day cycle. Recommend it so far. I also do the 45 minute walking every day and have managed to stay fit for the last 30 years through various exercise routines. Walking is easy!!!

Idiot Proof Diet Review: I Lost 9 lbs the First 11 Days!

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 8 years ago. I had gained about 30 lbs. and thought when I started thyroid meds the weight would just come off. WRONG!! No matter how little I ate I still could not lose weight.
Three weeks ago I weighed more than I ever have (35 lbs over normal) and was quite miserable. Everything I did eat bloated me so that I looked pregnant!

Dieter Claims "I Have Never See Weight Come Off So Quickly" Using Fat Loss 4 Idiots

Hi I just wanted to share my review of this diet: I bought this diet about a month ago and was at a starting weight of 137 and I have got to say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I would recommend it to anyone and I have to some of my friends. I am currently at 123 lbs for a total of 14 lbs lost (would have been more but I caved a few times), and it took a month to get to that and I am still currently following this diet.

My only word of warning is if you have no control over eating it is not the diet for you, you have to eat exactly as they say otherwise it will not work (trust me I tried to cheat a few times with negative results). I also workout every day so that may help, but I have never seen weight come off so quickly with many of the other diets around. People have said that it is bad because of low carb blah blah blah, but they do give you carbs to eat just not as much of the starchy ones which are not as good for you anyways. I could go on and on about it but really you just need to try it for yourself it works.

I will say that when I came across this diet online I was and had pretty much given up on any hopes of loosing weight. I was just going to accept the fact that I was going to be fat the rest of my life. The name "Idiot Proof Diet" caught my attention so I read what it had to say and paid my $27.00 (Editor's Note: at the time of Sheila's review, this was the cost of the diet). The best $27.00 I've ever spent.

I started the diet on March 28, 2005 and by that Friday April 1 I had already lost 8 lbs. I really like that I don't have to measure anything, or count calories at all. I will say that time has passed I don't eat such large portions. And at times its hard to get all 4 meals in a day! Maybe the first week or so I did feel a bit light headed, but my body was missing all the bad foods, pizza, candy pop.. oh the list goes on! I have noticed that now food is not my main concern of the day, I'm not obsessed with it as I was before.

I'm not as tired, I'm sure because Ive now lost 51 lbs, don't get heart burn any more, and have had no problems with my gallbladder. And also my cholesterol has gone from 188 to 161. I agree with the 10 glasses of water a day, if I don't I feel it the next day. My skin has cleared up and wow my nails have gotten much stronger and long. That's never happened before. As you can tell I have nothing bad to say about this diet! I was wearing a size 18-20 and now I just bought size 12, its been years since I've been in that size!!!! I still have about 30 more lbs to loose, but have no doubt that I will loose it with this diet!

- You eat 4 meals per day, each separated by 2.5 hours (I feel 5 meals per day is better, but 4 is still good and is what they recommend).
- You have to use a specific rotation of carb and protein rich meals (this is the foundation of the Idiot Proof Diet).
- Drink water
- Avoid sweets and excessive condiments
- Exercise

2. An online menu generator that spits out the exact foods you'll eat over the 11 day cycle. Before doing this however, it asks you what foods you like and don't like...this way, the menu it generates for you contains food you'll enjoy- a big plus.

Did Anyone Try the Idiot Proof Diet? - Vancouver Forum

Looks like the Idiot Proof Diet (aka Fat Loss for Idiots) works well on Canadians as well. Here's a little from a discussion about it I found on the Vancouver Forum:

I have liked this diet ever since I first tried it last year. I'm 50 and have always been slender and the last couple years I battled with 10 lbs.....but when I go on this diet and drop them fast, it lifts my spirits. Like a lot of gals my age, I'm not an exerciser, I even resist walking on the treadmill. I am a quilter and when I'm not working as a secretary, I'm home quilting and just cant imagine a life where I went to a club 3 times a week for a couple hours. I do believe what the others say about exercise and truly realize how beneficial it is, because I know others that practice that.....but its not for me. So I just wanted to say, for those of you looking to maintain, or drop 5-10lbs in a quick way and have pretty good normal eating habits otherwise....this is a great diet to keep handy for a pick me up! Fat Loss 4 Idiots Review: "I LOVE this diet!!!"

After hitting 31, losing even ONE pound became an impossible task. None of my old "tricks" worked and I just seemed to be packing on extra weight even after starving myself for days at a time.About 6 weeks ago, I hit my "scary" number on the scale, so I decided to take drastic measures. I had heard of a new diet pill that seemed to be working.

I usually NEVER opt for the pills, but at this point, I was becoming desperate. It was through my internet search for testimonials on the pills, that I ran across the Idiot Proof Diet. The diet seemed very sensible and easy to follow. It was inexpensive and balanced (I hate diets that limit my fruit intake!). Before doing anything, I ran it by a co-worker, who has an RN background. She read over it and couldn't see anything negative about it. I took the plunge and went for it!

I will admit, I was a bit skeptical about losing ANY weight by following a diet that would have me eating 4 times a day, including PASTA!! First round came and went and I was 10.5 lbs lighter!! I couldn't believe it!!! I expected to lose maybe 4 or 5, but never 10.5 lbs!!!

I was hooked from that moment on! To date, I have lost 16.5 lbs and I am halfway through my 3rd round. I had a week off due to prior engagements that I could not diet through, so that added a couple of pounds. Still, I LOVE this diet and would recommend it to anyone! I have now gotten used to planning my meals ahead of time and I am saving a ton of money by not going out to eat.

Review of Fat Loss 4 Idiots: "I Would Recommend the Diet For Anyone"

The Idiot Proof Diet worked and is working great for me. I lost 14 pounds but went on vacation and gained back some pounds since the type of travel made it hard to stay on the diet and to get my normal daily exercise or walking. I am confident that I will take the vacation pounds off quickly and continue to lose again. It is so nice to be back into clothes that I could not wear last year.

There are at least three reasons why the diet works for me. First, by planning meals carefully I find that I do not get into the constant snacking or grazing mode that is one of my weight management challenges. I know what I am going to eat and I usually know when I will be eating again. Secondly, I believe I am getting better at identifying when I am full and no longer need to eat. Third, as a function of the structure and timing of meals, I find it very easy to stay on the diet and don't feel particularly tempted to eat junk food or overeat at any particular meal. In beginning the diet I had the most difficulty figuring out when to stop eating.

I found myself overeating at times but as I got used to the diet I began to make sure that I ate slowly enough to have a 10-15 minute meal. Within the mealtime I could find myself feeling satisfied and knowing it was time to stop eating. That seemed like an important lesson for me and I intend to heed that lesson as I transition into a weight management mode again.

I would recommend the diet for anyone who could benefit from rapid weight loss, and is willing to carefully follow a program that can offer that can offer success.

"My experience with this wonderful diet began May 10, 2005. On May 7th, my husband and I took our 12 year old son to the doctor for an ear infection. Just for kicks I got on the scale - and almost fell off! I saw how much I weighed and was totally shocked. I've been overweight since having my son, but that day was the heaviest I've ever been in my entire life. The scale read 268 pounds!!! On the 9th I went on-line actually to research another diet program and found the Idiot Proof Diet instead. I started on the 10th and have been following it ever since.

To date I've lost 37 of 93 unwanted pounds. I really like this diet because it is simple and you're eating real food, not pre-packaged, portion controlled, someone-else's-idea-of-a-meal foods. If it takes a pound of pasta to reach that point, that's where you stop. And yes, pasta is one of the foods allowed on this diet.
