What exactly is eDiets.com "Deliciously Yours" Diet Program? Basically, like NutriSystem, Deliciously Yours is less of diet and more of a "meal delivery plan." With it, you receive three meals a day, plus a snack or dessert that are already cooked and shipped to you in what is called their "stay fresh" packaging. All you have to do is heat and eat. Sounds simple, right?
Before you place your order, you get to select from more than 50 meal choices, including granola, muffins, and breakfast bars for breakfast, while your lunch and dinner options include shrimp scampi, lemon rosemary chicken, oven roasted snapper, and smoked ham. You also get a choice of sides, and desserts include angel food cake with lemon pudding, and cinnamon baked apple with ricotta.
So far, so good. They ship them right to your door in weekly batches (US only), although someone needs to be there to sign for them.
Now, about the price. eDiets says it's only $15.95 per day, which doesn't sound bad if you're used to eating out all the time. But who does that three meals a day. That ads up to $446.60 for a 28 day month (users are required to commit to a full 28 days on the plan) PLUS $19.95 each week for shipping and handling. Oh, to be part of the club, there is also a $17.95 monthly membership fee that is automatically billed to your credit card.
Grand total: $544.35 . . . if my math is correct. That's more than some people spend each month to feed a small family! Okay, there is also and online nutritionist and fitness trainer available to you as part of the package, but that's still pretty steep to feed one person.
Are there cheaper options? Yes. One that we know that many people have had success with is called
Fat Loss 4 Idiots. You may have heard it called the Idiot Proof Diet, because it really is fool-proof. Their website creates a customized menu for you, so you can prepare healthy meals, at home, for the entire family! And with
Fat Loss 4 Idiots there is only a one time fee of $39. That's right, $39.
If you need someone to make and send you pre-packaged meals every single day--and have that kind of money--by all means check out
eDiets Deliciously Yours diet, or even
NutriSystem. There certainly are a lot of success stories attributed to both plans, but what happens when you stop eating their food? Will you have learned not only to eat healthier, but COOK healthier? Or will you need to keep paying them month-after-month so you don't pack the pounds back on?
We can't tell you what to do, but we suggest checking out all your options and seeing which weight loss plan works best for you.
