High School Sued Over Cheerleader Tryouts
You know it's spring time in Texas when the blue bonnets are in bloom and the parents of high school girls are suing school districts over cheerleading tryouts.

Football is serious business in the Lone Star State and so is cheerleading. Typically, if we hear of a naughty cheerleader incident, we usually assume it took place in Texas . . . and most times we're right. The latest? HS girl Savannah Payne, 17, missed too many days of school and is given an in-school suspension, meaning she can't try out for cheerleading her senior year. Horrors! Savannah's mom, Lisa Halbert, now says she missed those days because of illness (no doctor's notes) and has sued the Whitney Independent School District to stop the cheerleading tryouts early in April. Not surprisingly, others at the school are not happy with little Savannah and have threatened to damage her car.
