The Crown (Canadian government) is appealing a judge's decision to quash a $156 speeding ticket after it was revealed a city cop wasn't trained to run a specific laser model. In a notice of appeal, the Crown contends David Duggan, the traffic commissioner who found Christopher Tkachuk not guilty of speeding, rendered an unreasonable verdict. The Crown also contends that Duggan's "refusal to allow the Crown an opportunity to present further argument and case law to the court resulted in a miscarriage of justice."
