The Truth Behind Vince Young's Incredibly Low Wonderlic Test Score

Was the original test destroyed as ordered by the NFL?

FEBRUARY 28 - By now, most of you have heard the story of University to Texas quarterback and the rumors about an allegedly low score on an intelligence test which is administered every year by the NFL at its scouting combine. At first, sources were confirming that Vince did, in fact, score a 6 . . . well below a 20 that is considered average intelligence. A score of 6 would mean, well, that he could barely read. Almost as quickly, came reports out of Indianapolis that the original test--which no one has seen--was scored incorrectly and that on a retest Vince jumped all the way up to a 16. Still nothing to boast about, but at least it wasn't at the imbecilic single digit level. If only we could see that original test and judge for ourselves, right? Well, late Tuesday night the hotline here at BadJocks rang and a nervous man who would only identify himself as "Mr. Truth" offered us a copy of the first page of that original test, saved from the ravages of the NFL's industrial sized shredded when he stuffed it into his pants. Did we want a copy? Does Bode Miller get high?

Before we knew it, the document you see below was churning out of our fax machine from a little Kinko's in Indianapolis where the NFL combine is being held. No name, no number, no way to determine if it's authentic. Is it real? We'll let you judge for yourself. But after seeing this version of the test, we can see how Vince Young might have been fooled. It does appear biased. You can clearly read the score, and an odd note by the test grader stating "Moron!" under it. Not sure if that is a personal observation or a reference to the mental range of a person who might score that low. It is also clearly stamped "Retake Test" which was probably a good idea. (1 Page)
