2005 was actually a down year for HS Coach Sex Scandals: we had about 250 in 2004 and only about 175 in 2005. On the other hand, we saw a dramatic increase in the number of female coaches getting it on with underage boys (sometimes VERY underage.) There also seemed to be an increase in the number of coaches caught secretly videotaping girls in the showers. That's a trend we'll have to keep an eye on for 2006. Our Top HS Coach Sex Scandal story has to be Pamela Rogers Turner (who later dropped the "Turner" after her husband divorced her) a hot blonde gym teacher from Tennessee who was ultimately convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old boy while she was living with him and his parents. The fact that she was also at one time a WWE Ms. Monday Nitro Girl really set things off. Eventually, she got a slap on the wrist (like most female defendants in these types of crimes) and should be out of jail very soon.

Hot Blonde Gym Teacher Accused of Affair With 13-Year-Old Student - Pamela Joan Turner, a 27-year-old physical education teacher and girls basketball coach at Centertown Elementary School in Warren county, Tennessee has been charged this week with 13 counts of statutory rape and 15 counts of sexual battery for encounters with a 13-year-old, which allegedly occurred at school and in the boy's home. (The link above includes an exclusive video clip from TV station WKRN of Ms. Turner being arrested at her home.) According to the District Attorney, Turner lived at the boy's house "for a brief period of time when she was moving from residence to residence," during her divorce, and that "The boy's parents knew she was living there but didn't know anything about a sexual relationship." Pamela Rogers Turner Update: Hot Blonde Gym Teacher Agrees to Plea Agreement, Gets 270 Days in Jail for Sex With 13-Year-Old Boy - You remember Pamela Rogers don't you? She's the hot blond elementary school gym teacher from Tennessee who was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy. And, of course, BadJocks was the first website to post pictures of her in her red bikini back in 1997 as Ms. Monday Nitro. Well, Ms. Rogers (used to be Rogers Turner, but for some reason Mr. Turner is now out of the picture) agreed to a plea agreement that avoided what could have been an ugly trial and was sentenced to 270 days in jail and will also have to surrender her state teaching certificate for life. She could have received two to 16 years if she had been convicted of all 28 counts from her February indictment, so it was actually a pretty good deal. The judge also barred her from granting interviews or profiting from her story during eight years of probation. According to Prosecutor Dale Potter the sex acts between Rogers and the young lad happened at the boy's home while his parents slept, at the teacher's home and at Centertown Elementary. Coach Told 14-Year-Old Girls That He Had Illness and That--Surprise!--Sex With Them Would Make Him Better - In an update from a story we first reported in April, 28-year-old Lidio Castrejon Jimenez, auto mechanic and part time girls soccer coach, will stand trial on 12 counts of child molestation. According to court reports, Jimenez allegedly pressured two players into having sex with him with tall tales of an illness. According to one of the victims (who had sex with her coach like clockwork every Tuesday and Thursday for months) Jimenez told her his family was cursed, that the spell killed his brother, and that unless she slept with him, he would die and her mother could be hurt. More specifically, the "curse" caused Jimenez to spit up blood, cry bloody tears and have sharp pains in his lower back. Not satisfied with just the "I'm Dying" sympathy, he also told the 13-to-15-year olds that he was also "possessed by a guardian angel named 'Antonio,' who could move objects without touching them and could read their minds." Of course it was "Antonio" who instructed the girl to have sex with the coach through hand-written letters left in their homes. Jimenez also allegedly showed the victim an amulet filled with red liquid, which he claimed was his life essence and if it dwindled, he would die. The good news was that if she had sex with him, the vial would slowly refill itself, The second victim only claimed she had sex three times in Jimenez' car in a parking lot. Gym Teacher/Coach Allegedly Has Sex With 17-Year-Old Girl at His Home While Wife And Kids Were at Church - The story of George Barber, a physical education teacher and the head track and cross country coach at Las Cruces High School in New Mexico is pretty typical of our HS Coach Sex Scandals. He's been accused of having sex with one of his weight lifting students, a 17-year-old girl. According to the victim, Barber began hugging and kissing her in his office last May and she, at least initially, “was reluctant to become romantically involved with him because she knew he was married with children.” At that point, Barber allegedly “told her he was in a bad marriage and that he was only with his wife for the sake of his children.” And apparently he wore her resistance down, because later that month, he allegedly took the girl out of math class and went to his office, where he propped the door shut with a wooden post, took a condom from his workspace and the two had sex in the office bathroom. Oh, but the allegations get worse. According to the victim's statement, she and Barber had sex about 10 times during the next few months, several times in his office and once at Barber’s home when his wife and children were away at a church function. (Maybe everyone was shouting "Oh God!" at the same time?) She also claims that frequently the two had sex on a blanket Barber kept in his office. Female Victims Tells Cops That After Lady Coach Performed Oral Sex on Her She Could "See Busch Gardens From the Lot Where They Parked" - You know, sometimes the headlines just write themselves! Our friends at TheSmokingGun.com have the complete police report on Jaymee Lane Wallace, the Florida math teacher/girls basketball coach facing charges that she carried on an 18-month affair with a teenage student she coached at a Tampa high school. Coach Arrested for Sex With Girls After DNA Tests Proves It Was His Saliva in Their Ears! Well, chalk one up for the CSI folks: Samuel "Tony" Sutton a former coach at the Troup, Texas ISD is accused of sexual assault and improper relationship between an educator and student. How did get caught? Sutton was charged after two underage girls who accused him of sexually assaulting them (apparently he was licking and kissing them) subjected to DNA tests which found that samples taken in the ear and on the cheek of one of the alleged victims matches that of Sutton. The chances of it NOT being Sutton? Apparently 1 in 96 BILLION. (KLTV)

HS Soccer Coach Hosts End-of-Season Party for Girls Team Which Features Strip Poker, Streaking: Allegedly Gets Four of Them Drunk, Scores With Three - With a .750% batting average, you would think Jeff van Gastel, 34, would be a happy man, but instead we find him resigning as president of the De Anza Force, an elite soccer team for high school aged girls in the San Jose, California area. According to police reports, Van Gastel held  an end-of-season party at his parent's home on June 7, 2005, and allegedly provided alcohol to four 18-year-old players and then had sex with three of them. Because the girls are "of age" to consent to sex, authorities will not file charges against him for that, but van Gastel does face four misdemeanor counts of providing alcohol to people under 21. (The police investigation began when two of the girls wanted to press rape charges.) According to the police report, the party really got started when several girls started playing a game of strip poker, which was followed-not surprisingly--by streaking though the neighborhood, which was then followed by the sex. The two who wanted to press charges also told police that van Gastel "possibly spiked the margaritas with a drug to get them in the state they were in." Police found no evidence the drinks were spiked or that the sex was anything but consensual. Van Gastek will also probably be asked to resign from his new job at Menlo College, where he had recently started working as the assistant women's soccer coach. BadJocks First: Volunteer HS Coach/Cop Allegedly Caught Having Sex With Teen While He Was Supposed to Be on Duty! - What would you do if you found an unoccupied police car parked in your driveway at 5:30 in the morning? Like most people, you might be a little concerned and start looking around your house to see if there was a reason the police might have stopped by while you were sleeping. Maybe a burglar in the area, or reports of loud hippy music coming from the pot-smoking neighbors. For one Georgia man who came home early from work, the answer was probably not what he expected: he found the 28-year-old officer in his 16-year-old girl's room engaged in an unspecified sex act! (Improper use of his "night stick", perhaps?) Randolph Cobian, an officer in Henry County, Georgia was charged with one count of sexual molestation and one count of aggravated sexual molestation. According to reports, Cobian met the girl about a year ago when he started volunteering as a coach at the private school she attended. We're also curious as to who the father called to arrest Cobian because he was supposed to be on duty at that time and patrolling an area far from the girl's home. As a result of the incident, Cobian was "immediately terminated" as an employee of the police department. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation in this incident. HS Golf Coach Allegedly Hangs From Gym Ceiling to Get Sneak Peek at Lady Gym Teacher & Girls Undressing - Yes boys and girls once again, just when we thing we've seen it all, a bad jock comes along and proves us wrong. Okay, see if you can follow this one: a 20-year-old female gym teacher at Parrott Middle School in Florida went into an equipment room in the gymnasium in get a jump rope. She claims to have heard a noise above her, turned on the lights and saw golf coach Dan Madril climbing down from a shelf leading up to the ceiling. Not a normal activity, even for a golf coach, so she asked him what he was doing. Madril tried to tell her that he was planning to scare her and two other female students by throwing a basketball at them. Not the smartest thing in the world, but certainly not a criminal offense. The only problem with that story? He didn't have a basketball with him. Uh, oh. (Maybe just poor planning on his part?) However, just before the incident, the gym teacher had been to the bathroom and two female students (11 and 13) changing clothes. It was then she realized that from the position of where Jensen was in the ceiling, he could see the girl's locker room and showers. Now here's the bonus: Madril became interim coach at Central High School last year when former coach James Jensen was arrested and fired after being accused of asking a 16-year-old girl to perform oral sex on him. Busted! HS Gymnastics Coach Caught Hiding Video Camera in Girls Locker Room - The girls on the gymnastics team at Warren High School in Downey, California didn't mind that they had to practice at the local YMCA because they didn't have their own gym. They didn't even mind changing clothes in a makeshift locker room in an old storage closet. What DID bother them was the video camera they discovered hidden inside a box and aimed directly at them. When one of the girls watched the video she saw images of herself and other gymnasts (ranging in age from 14-16) in various stages of undress, and immediately reported it to her parents and the YMCA management. They quickly determined that the camera belonged to their own coach, Anthony Darrell Vankirk, who just also happened to be an employee at the Y. After carefully studying the tape, cops got a warrant and raided Vankirk's home, seizing "computers and other relevant evidence" and arresting him . . . although the initial charge is disorderly conduct. Rule #1 When Dating HS Girls: Don't Take Them to a Bar and Buy Them Booze - Joseph S. Bergstrom, 33, a former assistant football coach at State College Area High School in Pennsylvania has been charged with corruption of minors after police say he took his 16-year-old girlfriend (an assistant trainer on the team) to a local bar and bought her several mixed drinks. The name of the drink--I'm not making this up!--Forbidden Fruit. The two deny having sexual relations, but were spotted taking a cab back to Bergstrom's home, where she spent the night. When told about the incident, the girls parents admitted that they were aware of her relationship with Bergstrom and that they actually approved. They knew she had been to the bar that night, but were told she had not been drinking. Oh, and the police report also states that Bergstrom has asked to marry the girl . . . probably just as soon as her braces come off and she gets her learner's permit. Details.

HS Coaches at Christian School Take Teenaged Girls Out to Dinner, Then to a Bar, Then Back to Their Place: WWJBCD? (What Would Jesus' Baseball Coach Do?) It all started out innocently enough: several coaches, including Andrew Mark Schafer, 23, the baseball coach at at Zion Lutheran Christian School in Deerfield Beach, Florida, met some HS girls (including the 15-year-old victim) at a public charity event, then took them out to dinner. (Not the worst thing that's ever been done, but getting pretty close to the line.) Afterwards they all go to a bar where the guys somehow convince the bouncer to let the underage gals in. (Now you're pushing the limit.) Still later, all of them ended up back at one of the coach's homes and that's where police say Schafer and the girl engaged in sexual conduct. It wasn't long before rumors of the affair started surfacing at the small school and soon the girl's mother was asking for an investigation. Schafer was charged with lewd or lascivious battery on an underage victim and he and one other coach have been fired. More

B-Ball Coach Tells 17-Year-Old Player They're "Practically Married", Yet Still Have Sex 20 Times - Police say Craig DeBiase, 43, a coach at Bishop Machebeuf High School in Denver sexually assaulted a 17-year-old player in his summer basketball program five years ago. Their affair started off innocently enough, with DeBiase visiting the girl and her mother at their apartment and watching TV with them. One night though, after mom went to bed, DeBiase allegedly told the 17-year-old girl he was "falling in love with her" and began fondling her. (Smooth) Not long afterwards they started having intercourse and the victim told authorities that over the next three months, the pair had sex about 20 times. According to the girl, at one point DeBiase allegedly told her that he wanted to marry her but couldn't because of how it would look, but reportedly told her that they were "practically married." HS Track Coach Caught "Polishing His Javelin" On Web Cam - Dana Scott Anstey, 56, a longtime coach and teacher at Sierra High School in Colorado allegedly thought he was chatting online with several 13-year-old girls. Of course, by now regular readers of BadJocks know that the "girls" were actually undercover police officers . . . probably two burly guys named Vic and Tony. (Keep that mental picture in your head.) And the story would normally end there, except that Anstey did more than type naughty messages to the "girls." According to police, in addition to asking the girls to have sex with each other and offering to teach them "how to masturbate and perform other sexual acts”, he also had a web camera. And--you guessed it!--he sent the girls some very personal pictures of himself . . . masturbating . . . twice. For some reason the two male officers were not impressed. Anstey was arrested and jailed on suspicion of promoting obscenity to minors, a felony. (Colorado Springs Gazette)

Coach Allegedly Caught on Tape Peeping Into Junior High Girls Locker Room - We reported on Des Arc High School basketball coach Heath Leonard earlier this week, but details are just now coming out on the story. According to the affidavit, "right next to the gym are two locker rooms; the girls high school basketball locker room and the junior high locker room.  They are separated by just one wall. It was through that wall according to the affidavit that Leonard was peeping through a hole." And the whole thing was caught on tape after the young girls suspected something, borrowed a video camera and set it up to catch the peeper in the act. (Thanks to Barry Onwa for the update!)  

Update on Lady HS Cheerleading Coach Accused of Sex With Boy: Teacher Showed Up at School Parking Lot Wearing Pajamas, Carrying a Bottle of Tequila - There are so many of these any more, it's hard to keep track, isn't it? This one takes place at South Central High School in North Carolina where cheerleading coach Katherine B. "Katy" Tew, 30, is charged with taking of indecent liberties with a student and sex offense with a student by a teacher. According to what the student told the investigators, Tew wrote the boy before meeting him in the parking lot near the football field in December, wearing nothing but pajamas and carrying a bottle of tequila. Biggest HS Coach Sex Scandal of All Time? State Investigates School Where Four Coaches Have Already Been Fired or Suspended This Year, Other Incidents May Go Back 20 Years! - Merkel, Texas is a small town of about 2,600 people 13 miles west of Abilene. For a small town it's won quite a few state championships in both girls and boys athletics. It's described as a place where it is not unusual to see teens driving their coaches' vehicles through the streets, or girl shooting hoops in a gym alone late at night with a coach. They also often visit the coaches' homes, sometimes to get the keys to the gym and other times to baby-sit . . . or maybe more. Of the 20 coaches in the entire district, three have been fired so far this year for having sexual relations with students, and another is under investigation. In fact, things got so out of hand that the district had to call in state department of Child Protective Services to investigate. So far, investigators have looked into allegations and rumors spanning more than 20 years and conducted interviews with more than 100 people and wrote a report. Unfortunately, while there are accusations against coaches, there are also charges that some of the female victims are lying. In one instance, the AD called one girl and her mother into his office to discuss accusations. The AD allegedly asked the girl's mother if she would rather ''her daughter be known for playing point guard ... at Merkel than the kid who sent a coach to jail.'' He asked the victim why she would ''push this if it was only a kiss.'' According to the girl's CPS statement though, the incident went WAY beyond just a kiss . . . but was dropped because of what was perceived as pressure to keep quiet. A grand jury will review the CPS report and it's possible that coaches and administrators could face a slew of charges.
