Cheerleaders Too Hot? School Boards Asking Girls to Take Off Uniforms, Stop
Gyrating Their Hips - It's become a Fall ritual here at BadJocks: the HS
football season begins and immediately parents are worried about how little
clothing their daughters are wearing in public--despite running nearly naked at
the beach all summer--especially if they happen to be cheerleaders (Remember the
famous line from a 2003 controversy about short skirts in the classroom? "Boys
are going to be horn-toads anyway" Or this
one from 2004?). And so, here we are again, with an article in USA Today
about parents and school boards across the country struggling with such
important issues as how short are skirts before they're "too short"
and how suggestive can cheerleaders moves get before they cross the line into
"exotic dancer mode"? At least one national cheerleading organization
has banned "crop top" shirts that show bare midriff (like the one worn
by Kirsten Dunst in "Bring It On") and several local boards are
banning routines that use obscene rap lyrics and suggestive dance moves. (USA

First HS Football Hazing Report for 2005
Season! Football practice is well underway in most parts of the
country, so it's actually a little late in the season for our first hazing
report, but at BadJocks we're certain there will be many more. Our first
incident is from Penn Hills High School in Pennsylvania where two upperclassmen
tried to put Stefon Mungin head into a toilet (commonly referred to as a "swirlie")
after football practice last week. According to Mungin, he fought back and then
a few minutes later the pair jumped him and beat him up pretty good, breaking
his nose and bloodying an eye. Police are investigating and assault charges
could be forthcoming against the attackers. (WPXI)

APB: Arrest Warrant Issued for Dwight Gooden - An arrest warrant has
been issued for former MLB pitching ace Dwight Gooden after he allegedly drove
off after being pulled over for DUI. According to police, Gooden was seen
weaving in traffic near downtown Tampa and pulled over. After handing the
officer his license, Gooden twice refused to get out of the car and instead
drove off . . . with the officer still holding his license. For safety reasons
the cop did not give chase and attempts to located Gooden at several known
addresses was unsuccessful. So, in an effort to help our brothers in law
enforcement, we would like to ask all of our BadJocks readers in Florida to keep
an eye out for Dwight Gooden and his 2004 BMW and report any sightings
to us at BadJocks@yahoo.com. We'll post
those reports here and by use of elaborate GPS and triangulation techniques help
pinpoint his whereabouts for authorities. And maybe collect a reward, but mostly
to help out. Although a reward would be nice. (Fox

Side Note: Gooden's 19-year-old son was arrested earlier this month for a
probation violation.

Barbecue Destroys Six Cars at Chargers Game - The smell of brats and beer
were quickly replaced by burning rubber before halftime at the NFL game between
the San Diego Chargers and the St. Louis Rams on Sunday in the parking lot at
Qualcomm Stadium, as a smoldering barbeque ignited a fire that eventually
engulfed six cars in the parking lot. By the time it was all over, some cars
were reduced to blackened hulks while others had only their front or back ends
destroyed. The fire burned so hot that some tires melted, leaving cars sitting
on their rims. An arson investigator said there was no doubt the fire had been
started by a barbecue. (Sign

#129! Blast From the Past: Coach Accused of
Relationship With Girl Back in Early 90s - Bill Giordano, 59, a
middle-school gym teacher and former coach at Menlo Park in California, was
arrested last last week for allegedly having a lengthy sexual relationship with
a minor female student 14 years ago. The girl, who came forward after all these
years to report the affair, was a volleyball player at the time of the alleged
incident and also babysat for Giordano's son at the time. (San

#128! Gym Teacher Sends Pornographic Email to "Girl" - It happened
again: another coaching professional thought they were exchanging emails with a
sweet young thing and it turned out to be a middle-aged guy with a badge. Pedro
Calderon III, a physical education teacher and junior varsity football coach at
Mission Veterans High School in Texas, was arrested for allegedly e-mailing
child pornography. According to police Calderon sent the person he thought was a
13-year-old girl a photograph of a naked girl, 12 to 16 years old, who was lying
on a bed and doing something sexually oriented with an unknown object. Yep,
that'll get you arrested. (The

Over Man! Former Nebraska Football Star Lawrence Phillips Ends Pick-Up Football
Game by Driving Car Into Other Players - It's not the first time Lawrence
Phillips has been in trouble with the law, and likely won't be the last, but it
does appear to be one of the most interesting. According to police, Phillips,
who was wanted by police San Diego on a domestic violence charge, somehow ended
up in a Los Angeles park with a stolen Honda Accord. There, the 30-year-old
joined in a pickup football held by a bunch of teen-aged boys at Exposition
Park. At the end of the game, Phillips allegedly became enraged when he could
not find several of his possessions and accused the boys of stealing from him.
At that point, according to witnesses, Phillips got his car from the parking lot
and drove it toward left but came back onto the field behind the wheel of a car
and drove it toward the boys, many of whom were able to scatter, but not all got
out of the way. Several boys were struck by the car, but none were seriously
injured. After Phillips' game of "human bowling" was over, witnesses
were able to flag a nearby police cruiser which gave chase and officers arrested
him a short time later without a struggle. As many of you already know, Phillips
has a history of violent behavior, starting when he was a star player at
Nebraska. In 1995, he was charged with trespassing and assault after attacking
his college girlfriend, who claims he said he would shoot her in the kneecaps
and elbows. (Chicago

Coach Sex Scandal #91 Update - Back in May we reported that Matthew
Allen Charles Hertica, a 20-year-old assistant wrestling coach at Central
Gwinnett High School in Georgia, who was arrested for having
sex with as many as five underage girls. Details have now emerged about some
of the alleged liaisons with these gals and you may want to sit down for this
one. According to police, on Dec. 30, 2004 Hertica allegedly gave alcohol to
three girls and went with them to see the movie watch “Shark Tale.” In the
empty theater, the young stud coach--according to police--got on top of one girl
and began “making out” with her. While kissing that girl, Hertica allegedly
fondled two other girls who were sitting on either side of him. Then, in
another incident on Dec. 28, Hertica allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old in the
back seat of his Jeep while another girl was driving. (Gwinnett

HS Hazing Horror: Girl Claims She Was Hog
Tied, Gagged and Stripped by Teammates on Soccer Team, Then Coach Told Her to
"Suck It Up and Get Over It" - A a former soccer player at Sanger
High School in California claims that during a road trip to a soccer tournament
she was attacked by some of her teammates, hog tied, duct taped and had some of
her clothing removed. The then freshman (now a 17-year-old who attends another
school) says she tried to complain to her coach about the alleged incident, she
was told to "suck it up and get over it" even though Sanger Unified is
supposed to have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to hazing. The school
denies there was any hazing but the victim claims a doctor has now diagnosed her
with post traumatic stress syndrome. Her family is now playing to sue the school
district and seek monetary damages. (ABC

Minor League Baseball Coach Suspended for
Rushing Into Opposing Team's Dugout During Game - The Eastern League
suspended Binghamton Mets batting coach Dave Hollins this week, after Hollins
charged into the Portland Sea Dogs' dugout at Hadlock Field. According to
reports, a Mets player was hit with a pitch and the Portland coach was arguing
with the umpire that the player had swung at the ball before it bounced off the
bat and hit him. At some point, Hollins who was standing near the Mets dugout,
became incensed with Portland pitching coach Fernando Arroyo and raced into
their dugout. Another Portland coach intervened and received a broken finger for
his peacemaking efforts just as players from both teams converged on the brawl.
